Developing Good Habits vs Avoiding Bad Habits

Published by dougkueffler at 1:30 pm under Fitness Nutrition and Health Edit This

If you find it just IMPOSSIBLE to do both, is it better to Develop Good Habits rather than trying to Avoid Bad Habits?

I’ve given this some thought today, and pretty much decided there are only about THREE good habits that I would give any serious consideration:

Reducing Stress by being fairly well-organized.  This means keeping ”to-do” lists, scheduling regular times for laundry, grocery shopping, and paying bills. And it means filing, shredding, or otherwise getting rid of old paperwork!

Gaining physical and mental energy by exercising.  I find that alternating INTENSE, but short workouts, with MODERATE, but lengthier workouts, works best for me.  It’s easier to avoid distractions during intense workouts, and I get some of my best ideas during longer, more moderate workouts.

Improving my Outlook on Life by simply deciding to look at the bright side, or the good side, or the humorous side of things.  I don’t take anything too seriously, starting with myself and this blog.cigarette-lit-180px.jpg

There are only a few KEY HABITS TO AVOID too:

Smoking, over-eating, over-use of medications, over-use of alcohol, illegal drugs, whining and feeling sorry for yourself.

That’s about it, and I think I nicely avoided trying to answer my own question.

It is good to cultivate good habits from young. We need to have right mindset also.
