Vinyl Tile for the Deck?
We recently placed self-adhesive Vinyl Tile on our deck, under the gazebo area, as a way of keeping bugs and crawling things away.
The Mosquito net as shown around our deck gazebo just did not keep out the spiders and bees which seemed to hone in on the cracks between deck planks and come up into the gazebo. (I suspect a nest or two underneath the deck but am waiting until it gets COLD to go under there looking for them.)
Cost-wise, we thought the tile is a pretty good deal at .88 per square foot and we needed 8×8 rows for 64 square feet. A much cheaper solution would have been to put netting under the deck planks, at least between each plank. The problem there is the accumulation of dirt and leaves, etc, that blow around. The tile has really been neat and clean.
And the jury is still out on the vinyl tile. Although I think it looks pretty good, and the pattern kind of goes with the color of the deck overall, I am fearful the cold weather may do in the tile. After all, it is manufactured for home use, like in the basement, and not for sitting out in minus 30 degree weather! The stuff may curl up and split or whatever other nasty things such weather can cause. We will take down the gazebo cover and net for the winter. I will have to be very careful of shoveling snow in that area too. (Or maybe I will just leave the snow in that corner. But I need to block access or else the dog will think it is his handy-dandy outhouse location!)

It looks nice. I hope it survives the winter.
What a great idea to keep the bugs away! Your gazebo looks like a nice place to relax in …
Here’s hoping the cold weather won’t affect the vinyl tile!
Looks really nice, and comfy.
